It is no secret nowadays that as helpful as our phones are, they can also quickly take over our lives and sanity. That is why I wanted to maintain 2024 on a good empowering note and launch a one day digital detox!

Our gadgets and gizmos are incredible tools, but they can also be double-edged swords. The endless scroll of social media feeds and the constant ping of emails can cloud our minds and pull us away from our inner selves. It's like trying to hear a whisper in a crowded room.

In the midst of our bustling, tech-dominated lives, the antidote to this digital clamor reveals itself: the digital detox. It's not just a break from screens; it's a deliberate act of reclaiming moments for stillness, reflection, and genuine connection – the very essence that feeds our spirits.   1. Start Small: We cannot start running by signing up for a marathon. In this same spirit, I invite you to challenge yourself to only one day. If that is too much for you, how about beginning with short breaks away from your devices and gradually extend the time?

  2. Set Boundaries: Establish screen-free zones or times during the day, such as during meals or before bedtime. you can also plan one hour for a self-care time, leaving your phone and screens in a different room or go on a hike without your phone (make sure the hike is in a safe area. Don't go on an perilous adventure without letting anyone know about it)

  3. Find Offline Delights: Rediscover the joy of analog activities like reading a book, taking a nature walk, doing something creative, or spending quality time with loved ones.

  4. Practice Presence: Tune into the present moment by engaging in mindfulness practices like deep breathing, body scans, or mindful cooking and eating. This day is your day so shape it however it makes you feel alive.
